Frequency Tables – Measure of Association and the Log-Linear Model using BMDP Statistical Software Program 4F

Program 4F cross-tabulates and analyzes data in frequency tables. It can compute more than two dozen statistics or measures of association for two-way tables and analyze multiway tables using the log-linear model.

Two Way Tables

• Tests of independence (chi-square, likelihood ratio, Fisher’s exact, Cramer’s V, Yule’s Q, etc.)
• Measures of prediction: McNemar’s test of symmetry, Kappa test of reliability, row-wise and column-wise relative symmetry test, and test of linear trend across ordered proportions

Multiway Tables

• User-specified log-linear models, stepwise models
• Tests of marginal and partial association for screening effects
• Test-of-fit, estimates of parameters and their standard errors, expected frequencies
• Specification of structural zeros
• Stepwise identification of unusual cells and strata
