AM – Description and Estimation of Missing Data

Description and Estimation of Missing Data using BMDP Statistical Software Program AM

AM (1) describes the pattern of missing data, (2) estimates covariance or correlation matrices by any of three computation algorithms (including an EM algorithm), and (3) fills in (imputes) missing or out of range values. Data can be described and estimated within a group. The resulting covariance matrix and imputed data may be saved for analysis by other BMDP programs.

  • Display of the pattern of missing values
  • Estimated covariance or correlation matrix (three methods, including an EM algorithm)
  • Several options for replacing missing values (e.g., regression estimates)
  • t-test and variance ratio results based on pattern of incomplete data
  • Asymptotic standard errors, t-statistics, and confidence intervals for means
  • Rod Little’s Chi-square test for MCAR
  • Details of ML iterations
  • Option for saving estimated data or covariance matrix for further analysis
